Google Chrome 4.0 Beta is available for download
Poster: arnoud Thu Nov 05, 2009 10:07 am
A new release of Google Chrome 4.0 is now available for download, full build string 4.0.223.16. Loyal to a Cloud-tailored mantra of simplicity and performance, Google has kicked up a notch its open source browser, revealing the first Beta development milestone of version 4.0. Ahead of the November 2nd launch of Google Chrome 4.0 Beta, version 4.0 was offered exclusively through the Mountain View search giant’s developer channel. This is no longer the case. With the unveiling of the Beta Build 4.0.223.16, Google is now offering Chrome 4.0 to the public.

Internet Mac share grew after Windows 7 debut
Poster: arnoud Mon Nov 02, 2009 7:45 pm
Microsoft has not halted Apple's momentum, according to Net Applications' October report.

Image
If Microsoft (MSFT) was hoping that the launch of Windows 7 would halt the erosion of its operating system market share — and curb further inroads by Apple (AAPL) — there is no evidence that it's working yet.

In fact, preliminary data released overnight Sunday by Net Applications show Mac OS X's Internet share growing by 2.73% in October, from 5.12% to 5.26%.

Windows' Internet presence, meanwhile, fell from 92.77% to 92.54% — its ninth loss in 12 months. Windows 7's share, however, was more than 2% even before its Oct. 22 general release, thanks to w...

Spam King judged to pay $710 million
Poster: arnoud Sun Nov 01, 2009 10:04 pm
Facebook has won yet another massive judgment against a spammer who already owes $234 million to MySpace.
Image
A California federal judge on Thursday granted Facebook's request for a default judgment against Sanford Wallace, who is known to have been involved with spamming since the mid-1990s and with junk faxing before that.

Court documents indicate that Wallace and an associate who was later dropped from the case spammed Facebook users with phishing messages. Those who clicked on the links and submitted login information to phishing sites allowed Wallace and his associate to then spam the phishing victim's friends, in turn generating more potential phishin...

Seinfeld back with the Mac in latest Curb episode
Poster: arcticblue09 Thu Oct 29, 2009 12:40 pm

Didn't it seem like it was ages ago that those Microsoft commercials with Jerry Seinfeld and Bill Gates commercials aired? You know, the one with the shopping for shoes, as well as the one with the duo bonding with a family. Don't remember? Well, apparently neither does Jerry Seinfeld, who was purportedly paid USD $10 million for the commercials.

In the latest episode of HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm -- which happens to be one of my all time favorite shows -- Jerry is actively discussing ideas with Seinfeld creator, Larry David. In the scene, a MacBook Pro is prominently shown on Jerry's desk.

$1200 Titanium Computer Mouse for PC and MAC!!!
Poster: arnoud Tue Oct 27, 2009 10:13 pm
Intelligent Design, a startup from the Netherlands, has unveiled a computer mouse that costs rather whopping €800 ($1185). The device sports titanium metal cover and may become a desired accessory for those, for whom money is not an issue. The success of the product remains to be seen, but one thing it has already managed to do is to attract attention to Intelligent Design.

Specifications of Intelligent Design’s mouse are not known, but the developer claims that it features titanium cover, neodymium scroll wheel, laser sensor and Bluetooth wireless interconnection. Users will be able to choose between white or black models. The mouse is compatible with Microsoft Windows XP/Vist...
